BERDOO is a film exploring how a community works together to de-crease chronic absenteeism in the San Bernardino City Unified School District (SBCUSD). The film shares the stories of different San Bernardino students and the struggles that they face to get to school and do well but the resilience they have through their community. It also highlights the people and organization working with students to make Berdoo a better place. Berdoo is a film for anyone who considers San Bernardino a part of their story.

This film is produced in San Bernardino in collaboration with the San Bernardino City Unified School District, the Loma Linda University School of Public Health and with help from students and creatives who all went to school in San Bernardino.

Making Hope Happen Foundation helps to advance the mission of the San Bernardino City Unified School District from birth to career. Karnig Infant-Toddler Success (KITS) provides research and evidence-based classes and programs for families with children ages 0-5. Innovation in Education helps teachers and staff to develop inventive and new opportunities with and for their K-12 students like the iCare lab at Bing Wong Elementary. Mentor-Supported Scholarships provide funding and support for graduates of SBCUSD high schools who attend colleges and universities around the country. Finally, Uplift San Bernardino brings together stakeholders and partners from around the city to work together for a better San Bernardino.

None of this is possible without the support of donors like you. We are grateful for the Berdoo Film’s creators who are shining a light on the resilient and talented youth of our city. We know how amazing they are. We are glad you have an opportunity to see it for yourself. Please donate today and help to give a child, student, and/or family a bright future.
