Making Hope Happen Foundation Scholarships provide $3,000 and support from a mentor to help graduates of San Bernardino City Unified Schools succeed in their pursuit of a college degree or technical skills certification. Based on the estimated cost of tuition and books for two years of full-time attendance at a California Community College, Making Hope Happen scholarships help students overcome financial barriers that too often prevent good kids from accessing post-secondary education. Your scholarship gift unlocks this opportunity.
Scholarships fuel bright futures…
The Making Hope Happen Foundation supports the mission of the San Bernardino City Unified School District. Together, the District and the Foundation are committed to equipping local graduates for success in college an beyond.
The Foundation offers scholarships to qualified students to help pay for tuition, books, and other fees and expenses they encounter on their educational journey. To qualify students must have earned a minimum cumulative high school GPA of 2.0 and have applied for Financial Aid (through the FAFSA or equivalent). Scholarships provided by the Making Hope Happen Foundation are funded through charitable donations and given first to students who demonstrate financial need. Students who are also experiencing challenging circumstances (e.g. homeless, foster youth, single parents, from single parent households, or are dreamers) will be considered priorities for awards.
Awardees receive $3,000 to use toward college and college-related expenses. The award will be split across the first two years of full-time higher education attendance (distributions for part-time attendance will be prorated). Additionally, the Foundation connects each recipient with a university student mentor to help navigate the distribution process and college environment successfully.
